Cosmetology Apprenticeship Program in Rialto, California

Most cosmetology apprentices complete the program in approximately 18 to 24 months, depending on their work schedule, completed hours, and individual progress.

The program includes:

• Health & Safety Orientation
  Complete required health and safety instruction at the beginning of the program.
• Paid Salon Training
  Gain hands-on experience while working in a licensed salon under the supervision of a licensed cosmetologist.
• Weekly Related Instruction
  Attend a 4-hour weekly class with morning, afternoon, and evening scheduling options available.

After completing the required apprenticeship hours and program requirements, apprentices may move forward toward the licensing examination process for California cosmetology licensure.

The cosmetology apprenticeship pathway combines paid employment in a licensed salon with required related instruction through Five Star Academy.

Each apprentice must secure employment with a licensed salon that is willing to hire, supervise, and provide on-the-job training throughout the apprenticeship. Five Star Academy supports the educational side of the program through related instruction, progress tracking, program coordination, and guidance with apprenticeship requirements.

This structure allows students to continue developing their cosmetology skills in a professional salon environment while completing the education and training requirements associated with the apprenticeship pathway.

Apprentices are expected to enter the workplace prepared to serve clients and continue developing their skills under a licensed professional.
