IF YOU CAN CHECK OFF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA THEN YOU'RE READY TO JOIN OUR APPRENTICESHIP ACADEMY!
- At least sixteen (16) years of age
- Social security number (SSN) or individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN)
- Available to commit to a minimum of 32 hours per week
- Semi-experienced or experienced in barbering or cosmetology or have completed a Five Star Academy Beginner Training Course

Understanding an Apprenticeship Program
An apprenticeship program is a unique and effective way to gain hands-on experience while receiving valuable training in skilled trades and crafts. Administered by the Office of Apprenticeship under the U.S. Department of Labor, our program combines practical work with education to ensure that you are job-ready when you step into your full-time career at a salon or barbershop. With expert instructors guiding you, you’ll learn essential techniques and best practices, making you a well-rounded professional.
The Apprenticeship Program Duration
Our apprenticeship lasts between 18 to 24 months and consists of three key components that provide a balanced learning experience.
- You’ll complete a 39-hour health and safety course over a flexible two-week period.
- You can work part-time or full-time in a salon or shop to gain valuable real-world experience while earning an income.
- Additionally, you will attend a weekly 4-hour classroom session available in morning, noon, and evening classes to accommodate your schedule.
After fulfilling your hours, you’ll be ready to take the State Board Exam and start your career as a licensed barber or cosmetology professional. Don’t worry we can help you prepare for your test to help you come out on top!

A deposit is required at the time of enrollment, followed by affordable monthly payments through a customized payment plan.
